L'éternel Gianluigi Buffon, 43 ans, est de retour à Parme, l'équipe de ses débuts professionnels qui vient d'être rétrogradée en Serie B : le club parmesan a officialisé les retrouvailles jeudi, vingt ans après le dernier match de «Superman» avec les «Gialloblu». «Superman est de retour», a annoncé Parme sur son compte Twitter, en diffusant une vidéo conclue par quelques paroles de la légende italienne: «Je suis de retour». La signature de Buffon à Parme traduit plusieurs objectifs du gardien italien. D’abord, son envie de jouer est toujours là, puisqu’il aurait pu prendre sa retraite à l’issue de la saison dernière. 

Mais selon Fabrizio Romano, le champion du monde 2006 aurait aussi une idée en tête. Il voudrait engranger du temps de jeu et être performant avec son club pour s’attirer les faveurs de Roberto Mancini, le sélectionneur de l’Italie, afin de faire son retour en équipe nationale. Le but serait de convaincre Mancini de le prendre dans le groupe italien pour la Coupe du monde 2022. « Gigi » ne prétend pas convoiter la place de titulaire. Mais il aimerait prendre part à la compétition en tant que troisième gardien. Après un retour dans le club de ses débuts, le voir participer à une nouvelle Coupe du monde serait une belle façon de boucler la boucle. Grâce à un but de Cicerelli dans la seconde moitié du match, Frosinone a dépassé Parme sur la route. Fort de ce succès, l'équipe de Grosso remonte à 34 points, accrochant provisoirement Lecce en cinquième position. Parme reste stationnaire à 23, qui est douzième à égalité avec Ternana et Reggina.

Con questo successo la squadra di Grosso sale a quota 34 punti, agganciando, momentaneamente, il Lecce in quinta posizione. Resta fermo a 23 il Parma, che è dodicesimo a pari merito con Ternana e Reggina.  Il Frosinone parte all'attacco e già al 3' Ciano impegna, con una conclusione mancina da fuori area, Buffon, che blocca la sfera. Ancora Ciano, al 17', ci prova su calcio di punizione, deviazione in calcio d'angolo di Vazquez. Quest'ultimo, 4' dopo, si fa vedere dall'altra parte con un sinistro da fuori area che termina alto sopra la traversa. Il Frosinone torna a provarci, al 26', con Zerbin, la cui conclusione a girare è deviata in angolo da Buffon. Mihaila ci prova al 37' per il Parma: a lato da posizione defilata. Pericoloso al 41' Garritano che, servito da Ciano, impegna Buffon con un colpo di testa. Al 45' Mihaila conclude alto. Nella ripresa, il Parma si fa vivo in contropiede con Mihaila che, servito da Sohm, tenta un tiro a giro da fuori area: alto. Frosinone al tentativo al 16' con Ciano che servito da Garritano conclude debolmente, facile per Buffon. Il Frosinone passa in vantaggio al 27': Novakovich serve Cicerelli che, entrato da un minuto, lascia partire dal limite un destro che si insacca all'incrocio. Il Parma reagisce immediatamente: al 31', dal limite, ci prova Vazquez col mancino, palla che impatta sulla traversa. Ci prova anche Cobbaut al 36', Ravaglia senza problemi. Pericoloso al 43' Inglese, che guadagna solo un corner.

After the bogeyman of an immediate play-off, the guests return to lead the game, but in the 87th minute a shot by Roberto Inglese touches Federico Ravaglia’s post: a signal that the guard should not be lowered.
