Colchester United missed the chance to move into the League Two play-off places following a keenly-contested 0-0 draw with Gillingham, at the JobServe Community Stadium. It was a feisty affair at times, with both sides not giving an inch in their attempts to secure a win but in the end, they cancelled each other out as the U's extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to five games. Colchester looked defensively sound throughout and kept a second successive clean sheet but were unable to maintain their fine recent goalscoring form, as the points were shared.
