SK Rapid's dream of the title faces SK Sturm Graz, hungry for the double, in the final of the ÖFB Cup. In a rematch of last year's final, the sold-out Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt will once again provide the perfect stage. It will be the third match between the most popular Austrian soccer clubs in just under two weeks. Sturm are considered the favorites, but Christian Ilzer has assigned this role to Rapid. Sturm's coach saw the Viennese as "slight favorites". Rapid had knowingly spared players in view of the final, he explained. Nevertheless, Ilzer could not hide the fact that Sturm are only too keen to defend their title. "Our hunger for titles is insatiable," he said. His team's record against the Whites is brilliant. Since Rapids' 4-1 win in January 2021, Graz have only lost once in the 15 competitive matches that followed - in Vienna in May 2023. Sturm have won nine times in this period. Robert Klauß described his counterpart's words as "nice tactics to force us into something".
