Korea Republic's Ulsan Hyundai survived Kim Tae-hwan’s first half sending off to hand Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta’zim a 3-1 defeat in Group I of the AFC Champions League 2023/24 in Ulsan on Tuesday and return to winning ways. Hong Myung-bo’s side had lost on Matchday Two to Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale but moved onto six points at the halfway stage thanks to Jung Seung-hyun’s opener and a brace from Gustav Ludwigson within the opening 18 minutes. Kim was sent off when he picked a second booking nine minutes before the end of the first half and, while Bergson pulled one back for JDT eight minutes after the interval, the reigning K-League champions took the points.
